Description
To achieve the level 1 certificate the student should be able to:
- Identify facility layout, including hazards, run-off areas Etc. and the club staff roles.
- Understands KORMC pathway process and general club set-up.
- Assume correct sitting and standing positions with the bike on a centre stand.
- For 6 years and under, the balance bikes should be used for an initial assessment.
- Describe each of the controls and its associated function whilst sitting on the bike.
- Safely balance the bike with one foot on the ground.
- Discuss the importance of getting clear of the bike in a fall.
- (Engine on, 1st gear only).
- Demonstrate an understanding of throttle control and clutch biting point, moving the bike forward at a slow pace with steady throttle using the clutch to set the speed.
- Safely pull away and stop the bike unaided.
- Ride in the standing position.
